This June 6-8 in Los Angeles, you’ll find the 55th Annual LA Pride Parade, the 2025 kickoff to the Hollywood Bowl season, Late Night! at the Skirball, a Carnival of the Cats in Pasadena, Puppets in the Park, Torrance Summer Nights, Monrovia Music Fest, an Out Block Party in the Arts District, and more.

55th Annual LA Pride Parade – FA M > The biggest event of the weekend is this Sunday’s annual LA Pride Parade & Block Party, which runs along portions of Hollywood Blvd, Cahuenga Blvd, Sunset Blvd, and Highland Ave. The event will include over a hundred floats, and tens of thousands of spectators, plus a Hollywood Blvd street fair from Argyle to mid-Bronson Ave. Free to attend. Parade steps off at 11 a.m.

Late Night at Skirball! Dirty Dancing – TP > This Friday, the Santa Monica Mountains transform into the Catskills for one night only as the Skirball Cultural Center presents Late Night! Dirty Dancing. This after-hours celebration spotlights the exhibition, Away in the Catskills: Summers, Sour Cream, and Dirty Dancing by Marisa J. Futernick—which features a series of fifteen prints capturing the pleasure and freedom that families like Futernick’s experienced in the Catskills. The evening event will include food trucks, dance lessons, shuffleboard courts, drag bingo, and late-night access to the Skirball exhibitions. GA tickets are $18. Get more info here.
NHM First Fridays – M > Natural History Museum’s signature monthly series returns in June with an emphasis on experiencing sound they call AMPLIFIED. The Friday, the event features DJ sets in the nature garden, pop-up sound experiences throughout the museum, plus a discussion on music and the mind. First Fridays run 5 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $25. Santa Monica History Museum & Gabrielino-Tongva Springs Foundation – FA > On Friday, the Santa Monica History Museum and the Gabrielino-Tongva Springs Foundation are teaming up for a free day of cultural exploration celebrating Indigenous heritage and the rich local history of the region, hosted at Kuruvungna Sacred Springs and Cultural Center. There will be a guided tour of the sacred site along with free access to the museum’s current exhibitions. More info here.
First Fridays at MOCA Geffen – M FA > On Friday, MOCA Geffen’s monthly First Fridays welcomes Ashley Younniä of The Children of Sound for a special in-gallery set as part of MOCA’s FEELIN’ FEELIN’ dance floor residency program. Frogtown First Fridays – FA > Frogtown First Fridays return for a celebration of Pride month with special activations at a host of participating venues adjacent to the L.A. River Path. Jazz at LACMA – FA > The Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s annual Friday Night Jazz series is back starting in May, offering free weekly concerts at Smidt Welcome Plaza. The fun continues this Friday with a performance by the Jacques Lesure Organ Quartet. PLUS: Remember that LACMA is free to visit for L.A. Hollywood Bowl Season Kickoff – TP > Even summer hasn’t technically started, the fact that the Hollywood Bowl is about to open their 2025 concert calendar is a pretty good sign that… well… summer is here! The 2025 season gets under way with a pair of strong events this weekend. Saturday’s opener features Hugh Jackman performing songs from a few his favorite shows, including The Music Man and Greatest Showman, all supported by the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra (and a few special guests). Then on Sunday, the Roots Picnic (back for a second year!) brings a mid-90s hip-hop experience to the stage featuring Lil’ Kim, Method Man & Redman, DJ Quik, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, and more. Latin Sounds at LACMA – FA > The Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s series of evening concerts continues at Hancock Park this Saturday with a performance by Las Guaracheras, a Latin Music sextet hailing from Cali, Colombia. Free to attend. Runs 5 to 7 p.m. More info here.
“Totally Awesome!” at the Petersen -> On Saturday, the The Petersen Automotive Museum debuts Totally Awesome! Cars and Culture of the ’80s and ’90s, a new exhibit opening housed in the Mullin Grand Salon. It’s the museum’s first large-scale retrospective dedicated to the iconic style and cultural impact of those decades. Expect a rad lineup of concept cars, production models, motorcycles, and vehicles from classic film and TV—plus interactive throwbacks like vintage video games and tech. On view through April 2026. Carnival of the Cats – FA > Pasadena-based Tail Town Cat Café is will host its second annual Carnival of Cats this Saturday. The free, family-friendly event will be a purr party featuring 30-40 free roaming rescue cats plus fun games like kitty bingo, cat Trivia, cat cornhole and meow n paint. Guests can also have their fortunes read and play carnival-style games, enjoy refreshments, help with cat socialization, make new feline friends and more. Torrance Summer Nights – FA > The City of Torrance kicks off a series of free summer concerts this Saturday at Wilson Park with a performance by Britain’s Finest (a tribute act to The Beatles). Last Remaining Seats -> The Los Angeles Conservancy’s annual series Last Remaining Seats features classic film screenings in some of Los Angeles’ most beautiful and historic movie theaters, including Million Dollar Theatre, the Orpheum Theatre, and Los Angeles Theatre. This Saturday, the 2025 series kicks off with a matinee screening of The Freshmen (1925) at the Orpheum Theatre at 2 p.m. followed by an evening showing of Roman Holiday (1953) at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $25 for GA. Venice Pride Block Party – FA > The annual Venice Pride Block Party returns this Saturday to the intersection Pacific Ave & Windward Ave (where the Venice sign). The free, all-ages event will feature DJ sets, queer marketplace, community booths, food trucks, and more. The block party runs from 4 to 11 p.m. If you want to keep the fun going into the early morning, Gaywatch is hosting a queer dance party (ticketed) at Baja Cantina from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Get more info here.
American Indian Arts Festival -> The Autry’s 34th annual American Indian Arts Festival returns this Saturday and Sunday with a celebration of the rich culture of Native American art and performance. Enjoy live music, traditional dancing, workshops, printmaking, conversations on Indigenous design, and hands-on activities. Event tickets also grants access to all the Autry’s museum galleries. Puppets in the Park – M FA > On Sunday, the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs and Bob Baker Marionette Theater Join present a magical morning of puppetry on Hollyhock House’s west lawn.
