14 Food Indulgences Every Angeleno Will Want to Try at Least Once

Sometimes you just want to indulge, right? Overwhelm your senses with gargantuan proportions of the savory or the sweet or epic combinations of both.

The good news is that there are many great options in Los Angeles for decadent creations when the mood strikes you, and we thought it might be fun to catalog a few of them below (in no particular order) as a sort of invitation to the senses.

Granted, there isn’t a lot of subtlety on this list (and your dietician will probably kill you). But there is a ton of taste.

1. Ramen Burger

A burger patty with buns of made of ramen noodle. Make sure to try The Original Ramen Burger, as concocted by chef Keizo Shimamoto (you’ll find it in the heart of Koreatown on Vermont).

Do you really need a reason to try the Kogi Truck? Well, just in case, we’ve got five of them.

3. Roscoes Chicken and Waffles

Pretty self explanatory dish that brings crispy fried chicken and flaky waffles together for a sweet and crispy soul food inspired dish. One of the most famous places to eat Chicken and Waffles is at Roscoes House of Chicken and Waffles with locations all over L.A.

4. Alfred Cone (Waffle Cone Espresso)

Need an alternative way to get your caffeine fix? Alfred’s makes a killer espresso but they serve it in an eatable hand crafted, chocolate dipped cone letting the chocolate and espresso blend together, they call it the Alfred Cone.

5. The Cronut

Originally created by Dominique Ansel in New York, this donut croissant hybrid quickly became a favorite amongst people drawing in herds of people daily. However, in L.A. there are so many copycats similar to the original (and none of them using the same name) that you can find spread throughout the city. 6. Nutella Pizza

Nutella pizza. Need we say more? This ooey gooey sweet treat is served regularly till 3am at Pellicola Pizzeria in DTLA.

7. Pastrami Sandwich and Piggy Fries

No words needed to describe this sandwich and fries duo at The Oinkster. Let the pictures flirt with your hunger.

8. Mint Mojito Iced Coffee at

Philz Coffee serves a killer mint mojito iced coffee drink, complete with fresh mint leaves. Coffee fix with a refreshing minty twist, it’s like happy hour but in the morning.

9. Mac and Cheese Pizza

What’s crazier and more mouthwatering than macaroni and cheese on top of pizza? You can get it locally at Pizzanista.

10. Macaron Ice Cream Sandwich

How about an enormous macaron ice cream sandwich made at Milk? Perfect for the sweet tooth or a little refreshment on a hot day.

11. Pig Ear Nachos

Crispy pig ears, poblano crema, pickled fresnos, and topped with a soft egg. Its definitely a drool-worthy eat and you can find it at Petty Cash Taqueria.

Forget all diets and grab a grilled cheese sandwich taken to the next level with mac’n cheese and ribs from The Grilled Cheese Truck. Don’t say we didn’t warn you?

13. Chocolate Chip Cookie Shots

Who doesn’t like fresh baked chocolate chip cookies with a glass of cold milk but sometimes thats a hassle. Platine Cookies in Culver City sells chocolate chip cookie shots filled with cold milk to the cookie and milk mix before you set your lips to the cookie shot. They also have a red velvet version if you aren’t into chocolate chip.

14. The Pizza Burger

Can’t decide between burgers or pizza for lunch? Slater’s 50/50 has got your back with the pizza burger. Slater’s serves what looks like a normal beef burger but packed with a lot more ingredients including Italian sausage, garlic marinara sauce, and fried mozzarella sticks all layered in between the burger buns.
