August 2017 event highlights include a day-long art festival in Old Town Pasadena, BrunchCon, the Long Beach BBQ Festival, GinCity at Greenbar Distillery, a Solar Eclipse event at Griffith Observatory, the LA Taco Festival and much more.

1. FIGat7th Downtown Festival Every Friday in August (starts August 4)

4. ScareLA Summer Halloween Convention Returns (August 5-6)

5. Sundance NEXT FEST Returns to the Theatre at Ace Hotel (August 10-13)

6. BoldPas: An Art Takeover of Old Pasadena (August 12)

The inaugural BoldPas: An Art Takeover of Old Pasadena comes on August 12 for a one-day event that showcases professional and up-and-coming LA-area artists’ site-specific installations in the historic alleys of Old Pasadena. -> More information

7. Thrillist Taco Knockout in Downtown Los Angeles (August 12)

The fifth annual Thrillist Taco Knockout comes to Lot 613 in Downtown L.A. on August 12th from 1 to 4 p.m, for the “ultimate taco party”. -> More information

8. BrunchCon at The Reef in Downtown Los Angeles (August 12-13)

BrunchCon is back! 9. CatCon 2017 at Pasadena Convention Center (August 12-13)

13. The Hot Sauce Expo is Coming to The City National Grove of Anaheim (August 19-20)

14. The Queen Mary Presents the 13th Annual Art Deco Festival (August 19-20)

15. Los Angeles Comic Book & Science Fiction Convention at The Reef (August 20)

20. GinCITY at Greenbar Distillery (August 27)

On August 27 the fine folks at Greenbar Distillery  will be opening their doors to guests to showcase their latest offering, City Bright Gin. Tour the distillery, sample gin cocktails, explore installations, and enjoy live entertainment, all for free! There will even be food trucks on site offering bites for purchase.  Although there is no admission cost but you need to RVSP for timed entry via the link provided here.
