Family Jam at The LA Zoo Sounds Like the Perfect Saturday Night For Your Kids

Posted by

What event in Los Angeles could possibly combine kids karaoke with up-close animal encounters?

It could only be the Family Jam at the LA Zoo!

This after-hours musical extravaganza coming this Saturday features live bands, dancing, games, food trucks, zoo-keeper talks, along with the aforementioned kids karaoke stage and up-close animal encounters. In the addition to the music, food, and dancing, kids can also enjoy a Jammin’ Animals Search, a set of clues that will lead seekers on a search throughout the zoo culminating in a small prize at the end.

And for parents interested in what the food lineup looks like… food trucks on hand for the event will include CPK, Patty Wagon Burgers, My Tornado Potato, Greenz on Wheelz, The Grilled Cheese Truck, Vchos, Rice Balls of Fire, Hang 10 Tacos, Kona Truck, Paradise Cookies and Cream, and Ragin Cajun.

Lines for the food trucks close at 8:30pm.

Family Jam at the LA Zoo takes place from 6:00pm to 9:00pm on Saturday, July 11. Tickets will be sold at the membership windows at the Zoo as early as 5:15pm the day of the event, but purchasing online before-hand is strongly recommended.

Zoo members are $17 per adult, $13 per child. Non-members are $20 per adult and $15 for kids. I also saw a special deal on Goldstar (affiliate) where you can grab either a two-pack or four-pack of tix for just $15 per ticket.

Compared to total fees you pay when purchasing through Eventbrite, you end up saving about $5 per adult ticket, with the child ticket price the same. So if you plan on attending, why not take advantage (while supplies last)?

Finally, the LA Zoo would remind you that food and beverages are not included in the ticket price. Outside food and beverages, backpacks, coolers, or oversized purses will not be permitted. Plentiful free parking is available!

The Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens is located at 5333 Zoo Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90027.
