Here’s a Cheatsheet of Free Museum Days in L.A. For June 2022

For this month’s cheatsheet I want to focus on one museum and two exhibitions in particular. This past weekend, The Broad debuted a pair of new exhibitions, one of which is the museum’s first solo show by Takashi Murakami. No doubt it will be a huge draw.

As you probably know, The Broad offers free general admission to its galleries every month. However, the two newbies are specially ticketed, which means it’ll cost you $18 per adult to view. But, there is some good news for all my loyal freebie hunters.

In June, The Broad will offer free access (with reservation) on Thursday evenings and on the Juneteenth holiday for both Takashi Murakami: Stepping on the Tail of a Rainbow and This Is Not America’s Flag. Ticket reservations for these dates open on Wednesday, May 25 at 10 a.m. So if that interests you, be sure to set an alert.

Also remember there are at least two dozen museums in and around Los Angeles that offer ongoing free admission (The Getty, The Getty Villa, Hammer Museum, etc…). I’ve compiled a handy list of those free museums if you’d like to explore more freebie options for June. Otherwise, on to this month’s list…
