To celebrate its 71st birthday this year, NORMS will offer deals at all of its locations in L.A., Orange, and Riverside counties, including a 71-cent breakfast on Oct. 28 from 7-9 a.m.

Back in the day, NORMS offered a 70-cent breakfast consisting of two eggs, bacon or sausage, and two hotcakes. For its birthday, it’ll offer the same deal for 71 cents. The breakfast is limited to one guest per dine-in customer or two per guest for those placing to-go and pickup orders.

From Oct. 21-27, anyone who has or is turning 71 years old in 2020 will receive a free breakfast with a valid ID. This deal is open to all dine-in guests at any NORMS location. All 20 locations currently offer outdoor seating.

Norm Roybark opened the first NORMS near Sunset and Vine in 1949. The location on La Cienega, which opened in 1957, is the oldest still in operation today. In 2015, the Los Angeles City Council unanimously voted to designate the diner a Historic-Cultural Monument due to its Googie style. Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner spoke of his love of the diner at the press conference.
