The L.A. Zoo Will Offer Discount Admission For Pokemon Go Players from July 25-29

July 24, 2016 by Ashley Lyublinsky

Attention all you Pokémon Go trainers! You’re invited you to be the very best, like no one ever was, at the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens starting July 25 until July 29.

Trainers receive a $3 discount on admission (after 2 p.m.) by showing their Pokémon Go app at the box office.

FYI: The zoo grounds house over 45 PokéStops and three gyms.

Impressive.

The L.A. Zoo notes that most PokéStops are located near animal exhibits or works of art, so while you’re collecting extra pokéballs– be sure to check out some actual animals!

Lures will also be dropped throughout the week at the top of every hour, with the last lure of the day being activated at 4 p.m. to help you catch even more pocket monsters.

All updates and information will be announced as it happens through the zoo’s Twitter account.

A sweepstakes to win a year long membership to the L.A. zoo will also be taking place throughout the week. To enter, make sure you use the #LAZooPokeWeek hashtag when tweeting or uploading your awesome catches and you’re in!

L.A. Zoo also reminds all Team Valor, Mystic, and Instinct trainers to stay extra hydrated and bring an external battery pack to keep the party going.

Oh, and just a friendly reminder in the name of common sense: Don’t do anything ultra-dumb like try to climb over enclosures just to get at a nearby Pokemon.

For more information and safety tips, be sure to check out the zoo’s official site.

Now go catch em all!

Note: a previous version of this article referenced $3 discounted admission but it has been updated to reflect that the offer is for $3 off normal admission price. We apologize for any confusion.
