A Massive Soul Food & Street Fest is Coming to L.A. This Weekend

Looking for the more soulful side of Los Angeles?

This weekend, check out Taste of Soul, a FREE family festival with plenty of food (for purchase), activities, community exhibitors and soulful sounds from some familiar voices.

Without a doubt the food at Taste of Soul is the main attraction every year. Guest get to savor good eats from the South L.A. community, original recipes of mac and cheese, greens, po’boys, fried chicken, catfish, mouthwatering dessert waffles and more will be available this year.

Oh, and did I mention this thing was going to  be big?

According to the organizers some 250,000 guests attended in 2010 and a estimated 350,000 folks attended in 2014.

That’s a lot of soul!

To keep the party flowing music from the 94.7 Wave stage will feature artists Zapp, DW3, Mark Woods of Lakeside, Jon B. and more.

This year Taste of Soul will introduce the Taste of Beauty Pavilion featuring top stylists and educators Neeko, Kim Kimble, DaRico Jackson and Patric Bradley. The beauty gurus will perform live demonstrations and showcase an array of latest hair care products.

It all goes down this Saturday, October 17, 2015 from 10:00am to 7:00pm on Crenshaw Blvd. between Stocker St. and Rodeo Dr.

Some parking will be available at Hillcrest Elementary School, 4041 Hillcrest Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90008. However, public transit is strongly encouraged.
