This June 3-10, the Seoul Festival comes to Walt Disney Concert Hall as composer Unsuk Chin curates a series of concerts showcasing fast-rising Korean performing talent and distinct new voices, while LA-based collective GYOPO enlivens Walt Disney Concert Hall with contemporary dance, music, and video representing the Korean diaspora.

The festival kicks off with an evening exploring the diverse and dynamic voices of Korean and Korean-born composers including two world premieres. Then on June 6, catch a night of Brahms performed by Sunwook Kim, preceded by world premieres from South Korea’s ever-expanding cohort of inventive composers.

The following evening, violinist Inmo Yang and cellist Jaemin Han team up for a Brahms Double Concerto. Then the festival closes out on June 10 with a program of Seoul Chamber Music featuring the acclaimed Novus String Quartet.

And remember if you plan to attend make sure to spend some time in the Grand Avenue Lobby where Heecheon Kim’s video game engine-created installation 커터3 CutterIII (2023) will be on display for the duration of the festival.
