Some readers may be wondering whether or not you’ll actually be able to play with any kittens at the shower. We had the same question, and the best info we found was via a response by the official Facebook Event page from one of the admins:

“…our shower is in preparation for kitten season, so we may not have too many kittens at the time of the shower. But you will certainly get a tour of the nursery and be able to see any kittens we do have at the time. We also have a wonderful free roam room where visitors and are able to directly interact with our cats. And our course, we encourage you to come back any time or even sign up to volunteer in the kitten nursery if you are looking for a way to get more involved. Hope this answers your question!”

According to the Best Friends Animal Society 2015 over 4,300 underage kittens (2 months & under) were killed in the LA City Shelters in 2015.

For 2016 Best Friends Animal Society projects to save over 2,900 kittens as part of their fostering programs.

Donations are heartily encouraged at Saturday’s event.
