You know what’s handy? Waking up in the morning, firing up your phone/computer and being able to scan a super quick (but curated) rundown of the best of what lies ahead. So here it is, our list of fun things to do in Los Angeles for today, Saturday, June 15, 2019.

1. [10 a.m.] The 27th Annual Pasadena Chalk Festival returns June 15 – 16 at The Paseo for a day-long event of art, music, and family fun. Lasting from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., this free two-day festival will feature hundreds of unique chalk creations throughout the shopping center and sidewalk.

2. [10 a.m.] Grand Central Market’s annual Bread Festival returns for a day of celebrating SoCal’s artisanal bread movement. The event is free and open to the public showcasing local bread bakers, as well as bread workshops and demonstrations. 

3. [1 p.m.] Bill Esparaza, the James Beard award-winning author and taco expert who formerly curated LA Weekly’s Tacolandia, is back with a brand new all-you-can-eat taco festival of his own: Taqueando

4. [1 p.m.] L.A. Beer Week marks its 2019 return with over 90 independent craft breweries, live music and tons of entertainment at Los Angeles Center Studios.

5. [1 p.m.] Join California African American Museum (CAAM) in celebrating the anniversary of June 19, 1865, when Union General Gordon Granger declared that Texas’s enslaved people were finally free. The family-friendly day dubbed as Juneteenth will include workshops in ancestor mask making, freedom drum circle, creating a family tree and more. The museum encourages guests to bring a picnic set up and enjoy DJ sets by Francesca Harding too

6. [2 p.m.] For the 5th year in a row, the KTOWN Night Market is returning to Koreatown June 14-15 for a weekend of live music performances, delicious food offerings and trendy Korean-beauty shopping.

7. [3 p.m.] Pride on the Promenade is an outdoor festival, featuring three blocks of interactive experiences as part of SaMo PRIDE. The festival includes games, live theatre, musical performances, a DJ dance party, kids’ crafts, food and drinks. FREE

8. [7:30 p.m.] KCRW’s Summer Nights brings free, all-ages shows to some of the most iconic venues and cultural centers in Los Angeles all summer long. They continue this weekend with a performance by Girlpool and KCRW DJ Chris Douridas at One Colorado in Pasadena.  FREE

9. [8 p.m.] Shakespeare By The Sea will once again offer a ten-week program of admission-free performances with two featured productions: The Comedy of Errors and Henry V at a variety of venues across Los Angeles. Kicking off the series is The Comedy of Errors at Point Fermin Park in San Pedro at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. FREE

10. [8 p.m.] Hit cabaret show Ms. Pak-Man returns to Los Angeles June 13 – 15 for a comedy filled night staring the superstar of 1980s video game Ms. Pak-Man. She’ll regale audiences with stories of her rise to fame and what she’s been up to since.
