One Woman Spent the Last 15 Years Living on the Bank of the L.A. River

August 19, 2014 by Brian Champlin

The woman doesn’t offer her name, nor is much context provided for her situation.

It’s just kind of a peek through the window into her daily life, which involves laundering her clothes in the river, spray painting her collection of junk goods, taking care of her kitten, and heading over to the offramp to panhandle for some change when she needs money for food.

According to her, she even rakes up trash that’s washes up along the shore, cleans it up, and even attempts to plant fruit trees and flowers where she’s able.  She claims she’s been doing it for the past 15 years.

If nothing else, a really interesting perspective on a totally different side of Los Angeles.

Watch below.
