34 Awesome Things To Do in L.A. This Weekend You Ought to Know About [11-20-15 to 11-22-15]

Los Angeles provides no limit of things to do, some awesome and some not so awesome. Since time is precious in this fast paced city, we decided to curate a list of things to do in Los Angeles every week end that’ll help you decide how you want to spend your limited supply of attention (not to mention dollars!).

This weekend includes CHILL at the Queen Mary, a Pancakes & Booze art show, the Great Walk Los Angeles, the LA Auto Show, Cosplay at a Japanese Garden, and much, much more to choose from.

1. CHILL Returns To The Queen Mary

The Queen Mary will once again be overtaken by a deep freeze for the fourth annual CHILL!  Experience the Ice Kingdom, glacier glide ice tubing, ice skating and plenty of holiday entertainment. P.S. 2. The Pancakes & Booze Art Show

In a Warhol-style, anything-goes, massive warehouse environment WITH pancakes, the The Pancakes & Booze Art Show is guaranteed to be unlike any art show you’ve been to before.

3. Ricardo Zarate Pops Up At Los Balcones

The Peruvian master chef along with San Francisco-based chef Danny Kou will be creating two dishes each each for this special five day pop-up (November 18 to 22. ) 50% of the proceeds will go to Fundación Pachacútec, a center that trains chefs in Peru. Expect items like lomo saltado, salmon tiradito and morcilla crostini to pop up on the a la carte menu.

5. Beauty Is Skin Deep Sleepover At NHM

Another sleepover night at the Natural History Museum is happening! They’re calling it Beauty is Skin Deep with promises of the “ultimate ‘nerd-chic’ experience” that includes scientific programming with curational experts a scavenger hunt, music, and, munchie buffet, and perhaps most important, plenty of craft beer and wine on hand.

6. 1886 Bar Celebrates Five Years with New Fall & Winter Cocktail List & Party

Celebrate the anniversary of 1886 Bar with $5 cocktail specials and some of the 1886 original bartenders behind the bar. In addition Executive Chef Tim Guiltinan will prepared $8.00 bar bite specials. Celebration happens from 7:00pm to closing.

7. The Groundlings: Stakeout

This Friday night off Melrose catch The Groundlings latest and greatest night of improv comedy and sketches: Groundlings Stakeout. Our friends at Goldstar has tickets for just $10 (while supplies last) so grab ’em while you can!

8. New Menu And Chef At The Larchmont!

Michael Bryant has been tapped as the kitchen’s new Executive Chef. Bryant has prepared a new menu with items like Chared Spanish Octopus and Harissa Seared Scallops for his debut. The Larchmont has also announced ‘Sunday Supper’, a dinner series every Sunday from 5:00pm – 9:00pm with a changing menu and a $45 fixed price.

9. LA Auto Show

The Convention Center will host the LA Auto Show now till the 29th. Auto makers worldwide will showcase their newest, baddest and super cool cars. Expect brands from around the world and North America to make some debuts from BMW, Chevrolet to Jaguar and more.

10. 10th Anniversary Of Shade Hotel Party

The Shade Hotel in Manhattan Beach is throwing a 10 year anniversary bash in the lounge and courtyard of their hotel. Come enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres, drink specials, and dancing.

11. “Afros & Ass Whoopins” At Second City Hollywood

Instead of talking about race and the police, the folks over at Second City decided to sing about it instead! This original musical comedy Afros & Ass Whoopins is a story about a son at odds with his father’s old-world views.

12. Los Angeles Comedy Festival

The Los Angeles Comedy Film Festival will host screenings of comedic film features and shorts from around the world. This year movies with Michael Pena, Danny Masterson, David Koechner, Eric Roberts and Catherine Tate will be screened. The festival will also host stand-up shows by Rosebud Baker, Gus Constantellis and Mike Merrill.

13. Mission Chinese Food Dinner

For one-night-only celebrate the release of the new Mission Chinese Food Cookbook. Taking place at Night+Market in WeHo, this ticketed event will include a dinner cooked by some of Cali’s brightest culinary stars, including Danny Bowien of Mission Chinese Food, Kris Yenbamroongof Night+Market, Jessica Koslow of Sqirl, Andy Ricker of Pok Pok, and Chad Robertson of Tartine.

14. Maison de Luxe At Greystone Mansion

Admirers of the mansion can get a chance to step inside the illusive estate for Maison de Luxe, a designer show house event presented by Luxe Interiors + Design, in conjunction with the City of Beverly Hills and the Friends of Greystone. 15. Lunchtime Yoga Retreat

Get your sun salutations on in the middle of Downtown in Grand Park! The free yoga class starts at 12:15pm and runs to 1:00pm.

16. Free Meditation Classes At The Springs DTLA

Urban wellness oasis The Springs is offering free meditation class, Monday through Fridays at 1:00pm! Grab one of their fresh pressed juices after, it’s pretty much the best in town.

17. Great Walk Los Angeles

For the 10th year in a row Mike and Maria of The Franklin Avenue Blog are marshaling a group of Angelenos to walk one of the great streets of Los Angeles in pursuit something all too rare in our city: The exploration of L.A. neighborhoods on foot. They call it The Great Walk Los Angeles.

18. Designer Con

Designer Con is a massive convention for pop art and toys. There’s also a pajama party? We are guessing anything goes at this convention. Takes place for two days at the Pasadena Convention

19. Beerfest For Beergeeks

Pours of barrel aged, sours, and unique one-off beers from some of the best breweries in the country will be available at this Beerfest thrown at Stout in Burbank.

20. Take an Insider’s Tour Through East Hollywood’s Ethnic Neighborhoods

21. FREE Public Star Party At The Observatory

25. 7th Annual Southern California Pinot Days

A wine lovers dream, Pinot Days will showcase 80 phenomenal producers of pinot noir. Patrons will be able to sample over 100 pinots and talk to the winemakers at the event.

26. David Sedaris At VPAC

America’s best-selling literary funnyman, returns to Valley Performing Arts Center for an evening of his captivating and hilarious storytelling on Saturday, November 21 at 8:00pm.

27. Cosplay Expo At The Japanese Garden

The Japanese Garden in Van Nuys is throwing it’s first ever Cosplay Expo this Saturday, providing an idyllic backdrop for cosplayers to take photos in. In addition Cosplayers will be given access to garden tours, workshops, a costume repair center and more.

28. Flash your Stache at the 3rd Annual Stouts N Staches Fest!

The 3rd Annual Stouts N Staches Fest returns to Venice Beach, bringing the community and local bars and restaurants together to celebrate the culture and history of great mustaches and raise awareness and funds for men’s prostate cancer with the Movember Foundation. Taking over Windward Ave., stash peeps will flood the streets sporting their MOs, and receiving exclusive food and beer specials at participating locations. Live entertainment, DJ, photo booth, a VIP lounge and more will all be at the starting location, Hotel Erwin.

29. Magnolia House Welcomes Executive Chef Evan Colter

Magnolia House the cozy and contemporary bungalow situated on South Lake Avenue in Pasadena welcomes Executive Chef Evan Colter, who is reinvigorating the menu with impressive small plates of uni toast, hamachi crudo and adding oysters to the mix. From November 12 – January 18 Angelenos can skate in the heart of DTLA. Happening at Pershing Square, each skate-session cost $9, and $4 for skate rental.

31. The Little Mermaid Returns To The El Capitan Theatre
