Monday November 5th, 2018
1. Head to Frogtown’s artist-run space Tin Flats every Monday and Tuesday now until Nov. 27 for a night of curated special programming. Presented by The France Los Angeles Exchange, this project presents films, performances and exhibitions from artists in the program, as well as a film that echoes their own work. FREE
2. Yogis and animal lovers finally have the perfect workout activity thanks to Golden Road Brewery. Goat Yoga on the Lawn is going down this Monday at their L.A. location.
3. Astronomy on Tap hosted by Caltech Astronomy happens once a month at Der Wolf in Pasadena. Professionals will give informal talks about a variety of topics while enjoying German beers with the public.
4. E.P. & L.P. in West Hollywood continues their stylish cinema series Melrose Rooftop Theatre with a screening of Pulp Fiction, Pretty Women and more.
5. There’s a Legend of Zelda Themed Board Game Party happening at Scum and Villainy Cantina in Hollywood this Monday.
6. L.A.’s pop-up museum catalogue is growing larger this fall with The Pizza Experience – a multi-sensory pizza themed walkthrough. Explore giant installations, an oversized cheese pool, a pizza hall of fame, pizza theme-flavored snacks throughout, actual pizza slices and more. The Pizza Experience runs through January 7. 8. Rooftop Cinema Club returns to the rooftops of LEVEL in DTLA and NeueHouse in Hollywood with multiple screenings this week that include La La Land, Romeo + Juliet and more.
Tuesday November 6th, 2018
9. Are you planning to vote this Tuesday? Several local establishments will offer some great deals for customers who come in wearing their “I voted” stickers. Additionally, for those of you who need help getting to the polls, L.A. Metro, Lyft, and Uber are all offering free or discounted rides. Check this massive list of Election Day specials—ranging from cheap beer to free fitness classes.
10. Come help celebrate singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell’s 75th birthday with special performances featuring Seal, Norah Jones, Graham Nash, Emmylou Harris and more covering some of the best songs throughout Mitchell’s discography.
11. ICA LA will host an Election Day results viewing party from 6-9 p.m. Come and show off your official “I Voted” sticker and receive a free, one-of-a-kind, over-printed vintage piece designed by Election Reform! by Brendan Fowler + Denim Tears by Tremaine Emory. First come, first served while supplies last.
12. West Hollywood’s New England-inspired seafood eatery, Connie and Ted’s will host Teddy’s Talk: A Discussion of Oysters. Executive Chef Samuel Baxter, in collaboration with Blue Island Oysters’ Todd Rubenstein, will lead the discussion followed by a hands-on oyster demo and then a sit-down four-course dinner with wine pairings.
13. This Tuesday, Pabst Blue Ribbon Sound Society presents Women in the Arts at 1700 NAUD. The event features mural installations from local Los Angeles artists Alex Bowman, Grace Danico, and Ashley Lukashevsky.DJ set by Taja Barber and a special live performance by rapper Kari Faux. 14. Take a look into renowned architect Sou Fujimoto’s work at the Japan House’s new exhibit “Futures of the Future.” The showcase will explore the award winning ideas and themes used throughout Fujimoto’s career. Over 100 live scale replicas will be present. The exhibit will run from Oct. 27 – Dec. 12. FREE

Wednesday November 7th, 2018
16. The Los Angeles Arboretum and Botanic Garden presents Moonlight Forest, where crafted lanterns line the garden grounds, some depicting animals, shimmering exotic flowers, and figures from Chinese legends. Happening Wednesdays through Sunday till November.
17. Stop by Salazar every first and third Wednesday from November to February for a Mezcal Tasting Series with select mezcal brands. You’ll hear the history and culture of each brand and taste different expressions paired with snacks. November 7 will feature small independent distillery Mezcal Amaras.
18. Notorious RBG explores the life and career of Ruth Bader Ginsburg through a collection of contemporary art, archives, interactives, archival photographs and more. Each gallery section will allude to a song by the Notorious B.I.G. as the name of the exhibit suggests, and will playfully bring out the similarities between the two. Happening at the Skirball Cultural Center. The exhibit runs until March 10.
19. Planning to tailgate before the Lakers take on the Timberwolves this Wednesday? Consider nearby WP24 by Wolfgang Puck’s Sky-Gating expereince instead. For $50 a person, the night market-style pop up features access to five live cooking stations from 5-8 p.m. On the menu expect Whole Roasted Sea Bass and Spicy Chili Jian Bing, Chinese Donut Sandwiches with coconut ice cream, beers, cocktails and more.
20. Eagles Don‘t Fly With Pigeons & The Mayfair Hotel hosts #WCW featuring an all female DJ lineup with a special guest performance. The event is hosted by Denkinesh and sponsored by Black Girl Beautiful. No cover.
21. Visit the Annenberg Space for Photography as it welcomes its newest exhibit The National Geographic Photo Ark, a multi-year project led by Joel Sartore to photograph every living species throughout the world’s zoos and wildlife sanctuaries. The exhibit opens on October 13 and continues through January 13. Hours for the space are Wednesday and Friday through Sunday. FREE
Thursday November 8th, 2018
22. The annual AFI FEST (Nov. 8-15) returns to Hollywood for 2018 with an eight-day run featuring tons of film screenings, world premieres, and panels.
23. Head down to The Bazaar at the SLS Hotel for Spain’s Great Match. Now in its 25th year the event will feature over 200 Spanish wines to sample with tapas pairing and more from the Bazaar.
24. Actors, singers and dancers will take the stage of the Walt Disney Concert Hall for Shakespeare’s The Tempest (Nov 8-9.) Susanna Mälkki will conduct the LA Phil for the evening as part of the orchestra’s centennial season. DISCOUNTED (via Goldstar)

25. WRDSMTH’s will reveal first Los Angeles 3D art installation“Where You Found Joy” at The Bloc this Thursday. To celebrate the debut, a festive party will be thrown with a meet and greet with WRDSMTH, customizable holiday ornaments, a build your own cookie station, food, sips, live music and more. This event is open to all ages. FREE
26. Wicked Lit takes you through two short plays unfolding inside the Mountain View Mausoleum. The shows are extremely intimate and like the title of the show, the story line is on the darker side. Friday November 9th, 2018
29. Art at The Rendon (Nov. 9 -11) is an immersive operatic event that completely reinvents the interior of the Rendon Hotel through film projections, actors and a speakeasy from the 1920’s with a wealth of different beers and concoctions from local breweries and distilleries. Live performances from acts like The Vignes Rooftop Revival and more will take place throughout the weekend.
30. The 11th annual Inglewood Open Studios ( Nov. 9-11) highlight the professional artist studios and art galleries that constitute the burgeoning Inglewood art community. FREE
31. Los Angeles Coffee Festival (Nov. 9-11) will have you tasting hundreds of different coffees through fully immersive sensory bars, mixologists and individual roasters.
32. Craftsman Weekend returns to the city of Pasadena November 9-11 with walking and bus tours of historic neighborhoods, buildings, a market place and more.
33. The Mayan Heart Festival brings a bit of Guatemala to LA for a night of music, ceremonial dance, and vendors throughout the course of the night.
34. The Groundlings Mix Tape is a “best of” show with a limited run of only-seen-once-before sketches. Brought back to life by director Deanna Oliver and her cast of Groundlings and Alumni. DISCOUNTED (via Goldstar)
35. The Pasadena Arts & Craft Show (Nov. 9 – 11) at The Hilton Pasadena is an artisan market place offering a wide variety of handcrafted goods from over 200 exhibitors including interesting food, rare wines and other edible gifts.

36. Stop by the Alexandria Hotel in DTLA and walk into The Wolves, Los Angeles’ most interesting cocktail bar to date. The ever-changing menu has a whole host of ingredients made in-house including bitters and vermouths.

Jeremy Fall’s latest restaurant, Easy’s, combines the comfort foods of an Americana diner with Fall’s panache for nostalgic ingredients straight from your childhood. Located inside the Beverly Center, the new space is stylish, sleek and bright. The menu (in true diner fashion) offers breakfast all day, burgers, melts, and an assortment of funky entrees. Pairings like Fried Chicken & Funnel Cake, Duck Parmesan, and Crawfish & Pappardelle are adventurous choices. And then there’s the cocktail menu, which seems like it might have been authored by Dr. Seuss. Syrup made of Tang paired with Thrifty vanilla ice cream is one of two spiked milkshakes you can order. An Aperol spritz is sweetened by peach-cranberry fruit roll up syrup, and the Crunk Juice on tap is made of tropical punch Kool-Aid syrup. You’ll leave wondering if you should pick up some Gushers to create your own mad scientist cocktail. But maybe some things are best left to the professionals.
